Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for experienced individuals to collaborate and work together to create art. A freelance model herself, Hazel saw a need for group events that were more structured and had some level of screening for those in attendance to make the events worth the time and energy put into them. With the support of her friends in the art community and her photographer husband, Hazel turned her vision into reality and began EBH. Going strong since February 2019, we are constantly looking for ways to expand our activities and provide new opportunities to our members.

Who's Hazel?

Hazel Vellichor is the director of Events by Hazel. She began modeling as a hobby in 2015 and quickly worked her way to being one of the most published and experienced professional models in the Central Valley. A business professional by day, Hazel develops her modeling and event planning brands in her spare time, balancing her life as a mother and wife with her professional and creative ventures. She primarily works in the pin-up, figure work, and editorial genres, with work featured in galleries across the country and sets published in over 30 magazine issues.

FAQ

At this time, any model, photographer, hair stylist, make-up artist, or designer with an established portfolio is eligible to apply. For models, hair stylists, and make-up artists, we are looking for quality work that shows flexibility in skills and the ability to adapt to varying art styles. For photographers and designers, we are looking for high-quality portfolios that show your unique style and artistry.

The application lists prices for participation in each event for each position (model/photographer/etc.).

EBH is based in Lemoore, CA. Our events have taken place all over Central California so far, from North Fork to Visalia, and we plan to continue to expand. Have an idea for an event location? Let us know! (Perks available for those who hook us up with new venues!)

Right now, we are just returning from a hiatus due to COVID, but the plan is to resume bi-monthly group photo shoots, with special fashion events and runways in the in-between months. Typically no more than one event per month, though.

Once all photographers and models have registered, we build out a schedule for the day. The event consists of a morning pow-wow, followed by a series of 30-minute mini shoots with 10-minute breaks between. We break mid-morning for a group photo and at midday for lunch, which is provided. We eat lunch together, which provides excellent opportunities for networking and bonding.
